Coming Out Day

National Coming Out Day commemorates October 11, 1987, when 500,000 people marched on Washington for gay and lesbian equality. National Coming Out Day events are aimed at raising awareness of the LGBT community among the general populace in an effort to give a familiar face to the LGBT rights movement.

Schedule of Events:

October 10th

GLBT Definition Workshop. Lauren Ford will be leading a workshop focused on defining the various sexual orientation labels. Campus Center 364, 8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

October 11th

Tabling & Speaking Out. 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., small fountain.
Is Gay the New Fad? Workshop. Candace Mann of CHARGE will lead a workshop on the phenomenon of gay as the newest fad. Or is it? Campus Center 375, 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Coming Out Stories. A student panel will share the highs and lows of their coming out experiences. Campus Center 375, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
No Stupid Questions Information Panel & Discussion. Campus Center 375, 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
