Get Involved with Service!
The University at Albany places a high value on giving back to the community. Each year UAlbany students complete thousands of hours of service in the Capital Region. There are four main ways our students can get involved with community service.
- Join one of our 200+ student organizations. Each of our student organizations engage in service projects throughout the academic year.
- Join one our 20+ service based student organizations. These organizations’ missions range from early childhood education to cancer awareness.
- Students can earn credit hours for service by signing up through the Community and Public Service Program (CPSP).
- Students looking for one-shot service opportunities can visit the Volunteer UAlbany page on MyInvolvement.
Volunteer UAlbany, an initiative out of the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership, is an interactive hub for all things related to community service at the University at Albany. Using MyInvolvement.org as the vehicle, Volunteer UAlbany is the place where students can find and share information regarding service projects on and off campus. Students who are not members of student organizations, but are doing great things in the community, can use Volunteer UAlbany as a platform to promote their projects and as a way to log their service hours. There are many opportunities for students to volunteer here at the University at Albany and Volunteer UAlbany brings many of those opportunities together in one, easily accessible, place.
