Mary Saland
is a student assistant in the Office of Student Involvement
and Leadership, helping, primarily, with the campus wide
events and the Interfaith Council. Need help with something?
Just ask!
A Wyoming native, Mary moved to New York three years ago
after attending Metropolitan State College of Denver, in
Denver, Colorado. There, she was introduced to the wonderful
field of plant biology. This engaging introduction has remained
a topic of great interest and is ushering her through present
day studies in the UAlbany biology program. As well as botany,
Mary has a great time studying in Dr. Zitomer’s lab
working to understand the regulation of gene expression
of yeast cells.
In addition to a greatly anticipated May 2008 graduation,
Mary is sincerely looking forward to the spring birth of
her second child. Outside of classes and the office, she
loves spending time with her husband and little boy, baking,
gardening, reading, and exploring the great outdoors.
