This fund established by Dr. Shirley J. Jones and her friends and
colleagues is to provide support to African American women who are PhD
students at University at Albany and who demonstrate financial need as
well as characteristics of a leader and change agent (e.g., proactive,
creative, innovative, willing to take appropriate risks and
challenges, advocates for social and economic justice, etc.).
