On Wednesday, October 15, 2003, Initiatives For Women
hosted its 10th Anniversary Fall Dinner Gala at the Desmond Hotel
and Conference Center.
The evening included a conversation between University
at Albany President Karen R. Hitchcock and Jennifer
Openshaw, CEO of the Family Financial Network, about the New
World of Financial Opportunity in Tech Valley.
This anniversary occasion was highlighted by a slide
show presentation and a video, illustrating the growth of Initiatives
For Women since its founding in 1993. After presenting guest speaker
Jennifer Openshaw with a parting gift, Initiatives for Women presented
President Hitchcock with a commemorative IFW vase in recognition
of her many years of support. The dinner's closing remarks were
delivered by the 2003 IFW Dinner Chairperson, Winsome Foderingham-Williams.
