Mon. Aug. 27:Dorm Check-in from 12:00 to 4:00pm at Waterbury Hall

Thurs. Aug. 30:Campus Tour & Ice Cream Social
Enjoy volleyball, bocce ball and delicious ice cream treats.

Fri. Aug. 31:Classes begin.
Meet outside Science Library G-14 at 9:00am. Classes end at 2:30pm.

Mon. Sept. 3:Labor Day - No IELP Classes
National holiday -- banks and most offices will be closed. Stores and restaurants will be open.

Sat. Sept. 8: Horizons International Welcome Dinner
6:00-9:00pm. Pineview Community Church , 251 Washington Ave. Ext.

Sat. Sept. 8: Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival
Experience an incredible day of musical entertainment featuring the best in Jazz. Concerts begin at 1:00 pm . The event concludes with FABULOUS FIREWORKS at 7:30 pm.

Mon. Sept. 10: Welcome Reception for All New International Students
4:00-5:30pm , University Art Museum.

Week of Sept. 10:Safety and Security Talk
Learn what you can do to protect your belongings and stay safe on campus and in Albany.

Fri. Sept. 14: Apple Picking
Experience the traditional American Autumn activity of apple-picking. Visit a charming country store at Indian Ladder Farms. Bring money to buy apples, apple cider, pumpkins, and delicious baked goods.

Tues. Sept. 18:PPD Testing 10:00am-12:00.

Thurs. Sept. 20:PPD Reading 10:00am-12:00.

Fri. Sept 21:Electives begin and continue every Friday from 9:20am to 12:00 noon.

Fri. Sept. 28: ISSS Social: Welcome to the 2007-2008 School Year
3:00-4:30 , Patroon Lounge, Campus Center.

Sat. Sept. 29: Boston Day Trip
Get away from Albany for the day and explore the sites of one of the northeast’s most beautiful and historic cities. 7:00am – 11:00pm . (Seats are limited. You must sign up in advance. $35 for bus charter)

Fri. Oct. 12: Capitol Tour and New York State Museum

Wed. Oct. 17:Office of International Education Open House

Wed. Oct. 17:Midterm

Sat. Oct. 20:Haunted Mansion
Visit historic Ten Broeck Mansion for a Halloween haunting good time. ($5 adults, $2 children)

Fri. Oct. 26: ISSS Social: Food, Friends and Halloween Fun! Costumes welcome!
3:00-4:30pm , Patroon Lounge, Campus Center .

 

Sun. Oct. 28: Festival of Nations
12:00-5:00pm , Empire State Plaza , Convention Center. Parade of Nations, Ethnic Food, Arts & Crafts, Crowning of Miss Festival of Nations. Volunteers needed.

 

Fri. Nov. 9: Bowling
STRIKE! After class, compete with classmates in a fun, friendly, afternoon of bowling at Playdium Lanes.

 

Wed. Nov. 21-Fri. Nov. 23: No IELP classes
Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thurs. Nov. 22: Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by ISSS & GSO

Sun. Dec. 2: Holiday Concert
7:00pm. Several University ensembles will perform a concert celebration of the season in the Performing Arts Center. ($3 with student ID)

Fri. Dec. 7: ISSS Social: End of Semester Party
3:00-4:30 pm, Patroon Lounge, Campus Center

Tues. Dec. 11: Last day of class

Wed. Dec. 12: Final exam

Thurs. Dec. 13: Final Party
Celebrate the end of the semester and your accomplishments at a final party luncheon with your classmates and teachers.
