We are pleased to announce the Annual Symposium on Information Assurance (ASIA '12). This event will be jointly held with the Annual New York State Cyber Security Conference (NYSCSC). For this year, we have expanded the scope of our event by combining with Secure Knowledge Management (SKM 2012).

I would like to welcome the participation from Elisa Bertino of Purdue University, the ASIA/SKM Chair; Raj Sharman from University at Buffalo, SUNY who is serving as Program Chair; Karen Sorady from OCS, our Organization Chair; Damira Pon from CIFA, the Submissions Chair; Ravi Sen from Texas A&M University as well as Chandrasekar Subramaniam from University of North Carolina at Charolotte who are our Review Co-Chairs as well as our Advisory Committee Members: Kevin A. Kwait, Air Force Research Lab; Nasir Memon, NYS Polytechnic; Hoang Pham, Rutgers University; H. Raghav Rao and Shambhu Upadhyaya, University at Buffalo, SUNY; as well as Bhavani Thuraisingham, UT Dallas. I am also extremely grateful to our numerous prestigious Program Committee members who are listed in the Organizing Committee page.

This is a two-day event that attracts practitioners, researchers, and vendors providing opportunities for business and intellectual engagement among attendees. ASIA '12 and SKM 2012 will be held at the Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza Convention Center, Albany, NY 12242 on June 5-6, 2012. All people who participate in ASIA & SKM are able to attend the rest of the NYSCSC sessions.

The Annual NYS Cyber Security Conference is organized jointly by the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY) School of Business and College of Computing and Information, the NYS Forum, Inc. and the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Office of Cyber Security (OCS). This conference provides crucial knowledge that enables the attendees to stay attuned to cyber security threats and effectively meet the challenges we are facing.
