University at Albany Multicultural High School Achievers Award Program
This year’s event is being held on September 29, 2012
in the Campus Center Ballroom.
Previously known as the High School Achievers of Color Award, this program honors the accomplishments of high school achievers from the greater Capital District and beyond. Now proudly celebrating its 25th year, this program provides the University at Albany with the opportunity to recognize juniors from our community who have distinguished high school academic records and who are involved in numerous school and community activities.
Awardees have achieved a high school average of 88 or better and are nominated by their guidance counselors or community leaders.
Each year this program
- Extends an invitation to awardees for a visit to campus offering motivational speeches, an awards luncheon/reception and the presentation of certificates and awards.
- Provides the University at Albany and the community with an opportunity to acknowledge the role that parents, family members and counselors have played in helping them achieve excellence.
- Motivate these awardees to continue their leadership role in college and beyond.
This annual salute is just one of the many ways the University at Albany celebrates ethnic differences and to date, we have honored 4635+ students of color.
