HPSCHD-L List Command Summary

Shown below is a summary of the most frequently used listserv commands for HPSCHD-L. They should be sent as mail to listserv@listserv.albany.edu from the address you used to subscribe to the list. The commands are case-insensitive and the mail message may contain more than one command if desired.

SIGNOFF HPSCHD-L to leave the list.
REVIEW HPSCHD-L to get a list of all list members sorted by node name (the part of the email address after the "@"). (See, however, the CONCEAL command below.)
REVIEW HPSCHD-L BY USERID to get a list of all members sorted by userid (the part of the email address before the "@").
REVIEW HPSCHD-L BY NAME to get a list of all members sorted by name.
REVIEW HPSCHD-L BY COUNTRY to get a list of all members sorted by country.
SCAN HPSCHD-L text to search the subscriber list for the text you specify. The list that is searched is the same as would be obtained with a REVIEW command. For example, SCAN HPSCHD-L IOWA would have sent to you any entry in the list that contained "IOWA" (or "iowa") anywhere in the user's address or name.
SET HPSCHD-L DIGEST to have postings accumulate in a digest file until the file exceeds 1500 lines or midnight (US Eastern Time) arrives, whichever happens first. This is a bit of a misnomer — the postings are not "digested" or otherwise edited; you receive copies of all postings in their entirety. To cancel digest mode, SET HPSCHD-L NODIGEST .

An elaboration of digest mode is the HTML option. Use this if your mail reader is closely coupled to your web browser. Clicking items in the digest table of contents cause the corresponding postings to appear in the browser window. To enable, SET HPSCHD-L DIGEST HTML .
SET HPSCHD-L INDEX to have sent to you only a list of posting subject lines along with sender names. The index is sent out the same time as the digest, and from the index you can order to be sent to you those postings which you want to read in full. To cancel, SET HPSCHD-L NOINDEX .
SET HPSCHD-L NOMAIL causes listserv to suspend the sending of postings to you. This is useful if you are going to be away from your computer for a time and want to avoid mailbox overflow. To cancel NOMAIL, send the command SET HPSCHD-L MAIL.
SET HPSCHD-L CONCEAL causes your name and address not to be included in a REVIEW listing. To cancel CONCEAL, send the command SET HPSCHD-L NOCONCEAL .
