Welcome
The Honors College is a community of developing scholars that includes some of the best teaching professors and some of the brightest and most serious students at UAlbany. The students are earlier in their development as scholars, and the faculty are further along, but all are refining and enhancing their abilities to create knowledge.
Are you a student applying to UAlbany, one of our current first-year students, or a UAlbany professor interested in a challenging and intense classroom experience, a collaborative research experience, and a residence experience focused on fun and hard work? Come join us!

Students' Papers Featured at the New York State Military MuseumDuring the Spring 2009 semester, Professor Nancy Roberts received a grant from the Community Outreach Program, sponsored by the School of Social Welfare, to enable students in her course The Mass Media and War in U.S. History to travel to the New York State Military Museum and use their original sources (e.g., letters, diaries). The papers written by Professor Robert's students are now available on the website of the New York State Military Museum.
"Students in The Honors College at the University at Albany are considered developing scholars. Learning to locate, read, and interpret original sources is an essential skill of historical scholars. I am very pleased that our students are able to participate in this process, and that many of them are able to do this during their first year of college."
Jeffrey Haugaard, Director of The Honors College
