Alida
Van Slichtenhorst Van Schaick Schuyler
Alida Van Slichtenhorst was born in New Netherland. She was the daughter of Gerrit and Aeltje (Alida) Lansing Van Slichtenhorst.
Her
first husband was Gerrit Van Schaick. She was mentioned
in his will in 1679. By 1681, she was a widow who
had married Pieter D. Schuyler. That marriage produced
seven or nine children before his untimely death
in 1696.
The
widow's household was described on the Albany census
in 1697 and on subsequent Albany assessment rolls.
Alida
Van Slichtenhorst Van Schaick lived another fifty-one
years She died on December 25, 1748 at age eighty-eight.
