Seeing Albany on a Bicycle and Through the Lens of a Camera

For the last three years Warren Roberts has gone through Albany on a bicycle and taken slides of the city and its architecture with his camera. This has given him a different way of seeing, understanding, and experiencing Albany.

In this talk, Dr. Roberts will share his experiences and observations with the audience.

This Albany Heritage event is part of the Architecture and Art series. It is a free event.

Warren Roberts ia a Distinguished Teaching Professor in the History Department at the University at Albany. Since he relocated to the capital region from California several years ago, Dr. Roberts has enjoyed looking at local architecture through the eyes of an historian whose interests include all periods of European architecture. His methods may seem unique, as he has logged several thousand bicycle miles, over a three year period, in his quest to learn all he could - through the lens of a camera - about Albany.
