Beethoven's 9th Symphony

The Albany Symphony Orchestra, with special guest Albany Pro Musica, invites you to attend a performance of one of the most glorious musical events in all of musical history.

Performing the monumental Beethoven's 9th Symphony in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception lends itself perfectly to the desired theme of the evening. Guests will be immersed in the spirit of an era passed as they approach the 150-year-old Cathedral with its soaring spires and stately structure. As concert- goers proceed through gothic portals and enter the Cathedral's magnificent space, a fantastic musical celebration is set to unfold.

Beethoven's Banquet, the Gala Celebration to be held at the Desmond immediately following the concert, has been designed to bring its guests back in time to a period where Beethoven himself would feel at home. The Banquet Hall will be decorated in full period style and guests have been invited to dress in 19th Century costume.

Guest's can take advantage of the ASO's bus service from the Desmond to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and back to the Desmond. If you choose to drive yourself, plenty of free parking is conveniently located in the parking garage across the street from the Cathedral.

Dress rehearsal will take place in the cathedral on October 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Call 465-4755 for tickets to events on both nights, and for additional information.
