Concert of 1700s Music

Albany in the late 1700s was the home of wealthy Dutch businessmen who frequently hosted dignitaries including Franklin, Washington, and LaFayette. They entertained their guests with fine music programs.

This concert will duplicate the music programs that actually occurred in America in the late 1700s. Our program will include music by Haydn, Handel, Pleyel, Breval, Boccherini, and Thomas Arne. Performers will be: Sten Isachsen, guitar; Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz, violin; Petia Kassarova, cello; and a soprano from Glimmerglass Opera Young American Artists Program.
