Whitney recieved her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Health from the University in 2011. As an undergraduate student she served as a Senator for the Student Association on the Rules & Operations Committee, a Resident Assistant for the Department of Residential Life, a Teaching Assistant for the Office of International Education as well a Judicial Board Member for the Office of Conflict Resolution & Civic Responsibility. During her last semester as an undergraduate she worked as a Session Assistant and was elected as the leader of the Minority Party for the Model Legislative Session at the New York State Senate As a student leader she founded the performing arts Student Association group "Phenomenal Voices". As a member of the NASPA Student Affairs & Higher Education program she served as a member for the University at Albany Strategic Plan Steering Committee 2011-2016 ENGAGE, LEARN, SUCCEED. Due to her participation in the Emerging Student Leaders Program she also participated in the Middle States Regional Accreditation Review Board for the University in 2010.
Currently Whitney is a graduate student pursuing her Masters degree in Political Science with a concentration in public policy and international relations. She serves as the Graduate Assistant for the Office of Conflict Resolution & Civic Responsibility in which she enforces the rights and responsibilties of the University community. She is also the the graduate representative for the University Senate Committee on Academic Freedom, Freedom of Expression, & Community Responsibility (CAFFECoR). In her spare time she enjoys singing, playing the piano and tutoring. She believes that the performing arts is an integral aspect within academic institutions as it enables creativity as well assists students with forming a balance between coursework and extracirricular activities. She is happy to be part of the GSO and she is looking forward to a fruitful year.
