Sydney Heiss

Grants Chair

Sydney is a third year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. She graduated from Rutgers University and went on to work at the Rutgers University Cardiac Neuroscience Laboratory, where she was involved in numerous projects aimed at integrating heart rate variability measures in an fMRI environment. Sydney is now translating this knowledge into her research at the Health Behaviors Laboratory here at SUNY Albany, where her interests include “normal” eating behaviors, the interplay of vegetarianism and eating disorders, and the psychophysiological correlates of meat avoidance. Sydney has a passion for cooking and grant writing and is thrilled to serve as GSA Grants Chair throughout this academic year.
