1. Important Printer Reminder
This is a friendly reminder to all graduate students that the computers in the GSA's office are not for use for research purposes. The printers in the office are allocated strictly for printing and we ask that as long as there are others waiting all students keep their time occupying the computers to 10 minutes or less. Thank you for your understanding!
2. MCAA Chairman
Joel has done a wonderful job serving the GSA from the beginning of his term this year until the current point, unfortunately, he will have to step down due to time constraints. The GSA is currently taking submissions of interest to replace Joel as MCAA Chair effective at the next GSA Assembly Meeting - December 4th. 3. Thanks Giving Dinner
Thanksgiving is coming up and the GSA along with several other UAlbany organizations has signed up to help fund a Thanksgiving Dinner event for all students! Anyone who is unable to return home or wants to experience their first Thanksgiving is welcomed to purchase a ticket and attend! Tickets are on sale until 3pm on the 20th.

4. EGSO Annual Can & Coat Drive
I am happy to announce the kick-off of the Annual Can and Coat Drive by the English Graduate Student Association Outreach Committee. Last year, we collected over 10 bags of coats and over 400LB's of cans. I am hoping we can either match or beat that this year. So bring your stuff and tell everyone about the drive.

5. LISC Student Needed
The Library Science Committee is in need of one more student member for the semester. There is only one definite meeting left to be held on, Monday, November 25th. They also have a tentative date set for Monday, December 16th, but that meeting would only be held if there is urgent business that needs to be wrapped up before the end of the semester. The typical meeting date for this committee is 3:00-4:30 on the fourth Monday of the month.
6. Committee on Assessment of Governance and Consultation

7. RGSO Online Voucher Training System
The first training event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 19th from 6:30-7:30pm in the Levitt Room on the Downtown Campus, in Page Hall.
The second one will be Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the same room, in the Levitt room Downtown.
8. Spring Programming Survey
Greetings everyone! 9. Officer Reports
Due to the holiday GSA E-board officer reports for the December 6th, 2013 assembly meeting will be posted on Monday, December 2nd instead of Friday, November 29th.

Dr. David Yun Dai, The Three Paradigms of Gifted Education
Please join the Educational Psychology and Methodology RGSO at our final Brown Bag of the Fall 2013 semester. This Brown Bag is titled The Three Paradigms of Gifted Education, and will feature our very own Dr. David Yun Dai, who will be presenting on these questions: What is the state of gifted education in the US? How do we develop programs and services that are theoretically coherent and practical viable? What issues need to be resolved through research and consensus building? This presentation will introduce you to the realm of gifted education and explain why it is an important educational area that needs research that addresses unresolved theoretical and practical problems.
All students and faculty are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served!

We will be watching the documentary "Slavery by Another Name." The documentary traces the continuance of slavery in other guises throughout the South after abolition and was written UAlbany's own Sheila Curran Bernard. The event is open to all in the UAlbany community and food and drink will be provided!

Live music, lasagna, drinks, stories from Immigrants and Silent Auction! We are raising funds for our Legal Consultation Program and our Immigrant Assistance Fund. We are the only all volunteer, justice-based program in Albany that assists immigrants regardless of their documented status. Our Legal Consultation Program provides a safe, low-cost way to find a legal process to help local immigrants.

Every year since Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA), graduate students from SUNY Albany?s School of Social Welfare have contributed their time and effort to help rebuild the structure and morale of those affected by this disaster.

22. International Teacher Education Conference

Call for papers!
The main goal of International Teacher Education Conference is to provide a multinational platform where the latest trends in education can be presented and discussed in a friendly environment with the aim to learn from each other. Prospective presenters are encouraged to submit proposals for papers and posters/demonstrations that offer new research or theoretical contributions. Presentations should be in Turkish, English and Arabic and should address both theoretical issues and new research findings.
Furthermore if the presenter is unable to attend the oral presentation, video presentations are available. For further information on how to submit, please refer to the Paper Submission section on our website. For paper guidelines, please refer to the Paper Guidelines section.
ITEC 2014 conference will take place on February 5-7, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Sharjah Hotel, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates..
All full papers (in all languages) will be published in an online proceedings book on ITEC web site after the conference.
We would like to invite you to share your experience and your papers with academicians and professionals.
The official languages of the conference are English and Turkish. Proposals can be sent and be presented in either language. But all submission process will be done in English. Please, submit your proposal according to the following presentation category descriptions in paper guidelines.

23. FASEB Biological Research Video Contest
The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) is sponsoring a competition for the most effective and creative video of how biomedical and biological research is funded in the U.S. and how the results of federally funded research benefit Americans.
Ideas for submission include, but are not limited to:

Grand prize winner will receive $5,000!
