Robert is currently employed by UAlbany at the Office of Facilities Management where he is a graduate assistant/IT technician. He also does freelance web development for many local businesses in the area. How does he balance his time? "...very carefully! Graduate school, work, and hockey take up a lot of my time."
After high school, he wasn't sure what his major was going to be. "All I knew was it was going to be geared toward computers and technology. I became interested in this field during high school, I bought a few books on computers and web design and taught myself the basics and before I knew it I was designing websites for local non-profit organizations, as well as helping the end-users with their computers"
"UAlbany's undergraduate programs allowed me to study a specific area, while also allowing me to take courses that I just found "interesting" and had nothing to do with my major. These classes, which I used for my General Education requirements, were a great change of pace from the technology and programming classes I had to take for my major."
Where would you like to be 10 years from now? Ten years from now he sees himself with a full time position in the field of information technology.
