Bridge to the Doctorate Program
UAlbany’s Office of Graduate Education and lead institution, Stony Brook University, submitted and were approved for a National Science Foundation (NSF), Bridge to the Doctorate program.
Bridge to the Doctorate is a graduate fellowship and support program for former LSAMP participants who plan to matriculate in a graduate program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). The program offers 12 two-year graduate fellowships of $30,000. Students will also receive full tuition, health insurance, support services, and opportunities to attend academic and professional workshops.
Candidates for the fellowship are required to meet the following criteria:
- Have participated in an LSAMP Program
- Have obtained a Bachelors in a STEM Discipline
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Accepted into a STEM graduate program at the University at Albany.
While all Bridge to Doctorate fellowship awards for UAlbany have now been filled; applicants may consult the LSAMP national website for institutions that are recruiting candidates for the award.
