Initially appointed as a graduate assistant, she has worked extensively in support of the Office of Graduate Admissions public contact services. During the Summer 2005, Christine accepted a professional appointment and now serves as the counselor in charge of the admissions and degree services for the Schools of Education and Business. She is also responsible officer for New York State Teacher Certification and works as a liaison between the University and the New York State Education Department. Ms. Smith also continues to retain responsibilities for assuring quality of public contact services provided by the unit. In that capacity, her activities include performance of technical and creative liaison with ITS in management of the unit’s web information presence and general oversight of all of inquiry and reception services. Christine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Potsdam and is currently enrolled as an advanced doctoral student in Educational Administration and Policy Studies at the University at Albany. She brings significant prior experience in event planning, promotion, marketing and counseling from her previous positions as Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Stewardship at the Sage Colleges and Director of Career Services and Admissions Counselor at Five Towns College. She has also received several citations and awards for prior service and has instructed undergraduate internship courses in career education.
