| On August 26, 2005, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies teamed up to present an all-day Graduate Student and Graduate Teaching Assistant Orientation, followed by the first-ever welcoming picnic. According to various registrations, 330-350 incoming graduate students attended both events, including students from all 9 Schools and Colleges. In addition to support from CETL, the picnic in particular was co-sponsored by the Graduate Student Organization (GSO), the Provost, University Auxiliary Services (UAS), Student Affairs, the College of Arts and Sciences, the University Libraries, and Student Activities.
