AGOG 405/AGOG 530 Topics in Human Geography: Global China and the World Order

Analyzes the role and influence of China in contemporary global affairs for students who have some familiarity with China. Using examinations of important people in Chinese history together with an analysis of contemporary Chinese society, this course attempts to explain China’s relationship to global and regional norms, rules and institutions. Students wishing to enroll should be Juniors or Seniors. should have taken the following course: GOG 102 (Introduction to Human Geography) and at least one of the following courses or by permission of the instructor: GOG 160 (China: People and Places), EAC 100 (Introduction to China), EAC 170 (China: Its Culture and Heritage), GOG230 (Reform and Resistance in Contemporary China), GOG 350 (Urban Development in China).
