Faculty No Paper Pledge
Home > Recycling & Waste Reduction > No-Paper-Pledge

As part of our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint, we are asking faculty to make course material available solely online and thus reduce our paper use. To illustrate the potential of this reduction, let's assume our 18,000 students receive a 2 page syllabus in each of their five classes, this would amount to 180,000 sheets of paper. If these are all posted online and the paper used was avoided, we would save 22 trees and $14,000 in copying costs. If we were to post additional course material online instead of providing hard copies, our savings would be much greater.
The faculty members listed below have pledged to make their course syllabus and other material available exclusively online for the Spring 2009 semester.
