The Roanne Kulakoff '81 Award
Veda Talanki, recipient
“Last year,” recalls Veda Talanki of
East Setauket, N.Y., “I had to work. I
was working
hard and doing
well in school.”
This year, with
help from the
Roanne Kulakoff
’81 Award, she’ll
“be able to work
less and concentrate
more
on my studies
in accounting
and information technology management.”
Talanki, a Dean’s List student
and a member of the Class of 2014, plans
to detect, investigate and prevent fraud
through a position with the FBI or in the
forensic accounting field. The Kulakoff
Award is presented to a School of Business
junior who has funded him/herself
throughout college while maintaining
high academic standards, contributing
to the community and demonstrating
exemplary leadership skills.
