Council for Economic Outreach

Economic Impact Statement   The University at Albany Foundation Council for Economic Outreach represents a partnership formed in the early 1990s with the primary goal of contributing to the economic development of the Capital Region by promoting opportunities for collaboration among the University, the business community, and governmental agencies. The Council has led many significant initiatives since its inception, including advocating for the University’s Center for Environmental Sciences and Technology Management, participating in a 10-year economic impact study for the University -- measuring an impact of over $7 billion.

Behind great discoveries are great Universities

 Marty and Dorothy Silverman Foundation
Through the Marty and Dorothy Silverman Foundation, formed in 1984, the late philanthropist Morris “Marty” Silverman made a $1 million gift to support the University at Albany’s Life Sciences Research Initiative, a major effort to advance scientific understanding of the molecular mysteries of life and disease.
Through the initiative, UAlbany has been able to invest more than $100 million in public and private funds to expand its research facilities and attract world-class researchers.
