with an introduction by

Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, University at Albany
Topics will include:
Description of KAPL electron multiplier and ion pulse-counting in mass
spectrometry.
The accidental discovery of DU particles in air filters at KAPL and its
significance for atmospheric transport and deposition.
The ceramic nature of DU from the National Lead Industries plant
The Battelle experiment to measure dissolution half-life of ceramic DU
oxide particles.
A critique of Oak Ridge National Laboratories cleanup level of 35 pCi/g
of U-238 at the National Lead Industries site for unrestricted public
use.
The Seminar will take place on the uptown University at Albany campus,
Earth Science Building, Room 232 at 4:00 pm Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003
