Students who matriculated prior to Fall 2012 will see the new General Education requirements on their audit immediately prior to the first day of the semester. Students who matriculated effective Fall 2012 were introduced to the audits during summer planning conferences.
In a nutshell, the new General Education requirements being implemented are more streamlined - fewer credits in some categories, and fewer categories.
The best resource for information on the General Education Program is your DARS degree audit. You can run your own audit from MyUAlbany. Your advisor can also view your degree audit. The audit will show you where you stand towards completion of your General Education requirements as well as for your major and your minor.
Certain transfer credit policies apply to courses meeting General Education requirements.
