President Obama presented a congressional 'to-do list' during his remarks, which includes the elimination of tax incentives for businesses that outsource jobs offsore, enacting new hire tax credits for business, investment in clean energy manufacturing jobs, rewarding resposible home mortgage holders by offering lower refinance percentage rates, and the creation of a job program for veterans.  

President Obama's address was held in the unfinished 50,000 square foot clean room of the NanoFab X complex. The clean room is being built to hold the technology to make faster and better computer chips on 450mmwafers.

President Obama discussed CNSE's success at job creation:

“Right now, some of the most advanced manufacturing work in America is being done right here in upstate New York. Cutting-edge businesses from all over the world are deciding to build here and hire here. And you’ve got schools like this one that are training workers with the exact skills that those businesses are looking for."

President Obama discussed economic initiatives during his visit to UAlbany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering:

"Now I want what's happening in Albany to happen all across the country — places like Cleveland and Pittsburgh and Raleigh," Obama said. "I want to create more opportunities for hardworking Americans to start making things again, and selling them all over the world stamped with those proud words: Made in America. That's the goal."
