Cost of Attendance

The Cost of Attendance is the total of direct and indirect educational expenses for an academic year.

Direct expenses are charges by UAlbany to the student. These expenses include: tuition, fees, room charges, and meals. Students who live on campus while attending UAlbany will have different direct expenses than those students living off campus.

Indirect expenses are costs incurred while a student pursues their education. These costs include: books, supplies, personal items, transportation, and off-campus living expenses.

As part of the financial aid process, aid applicants are evaluated based on the housing and credit load, then assigned an estimated Cost of Attendance.
