How To Apply - Summer Aid |
Step 1 of 5.
Summer Aid Eligibility Requirements
|
Students who will be attending Summer Session
and plan to apply for financial aid should do the following:
1. Enroll for at least 6 credits in a matriculated program of study to qualify
for
Summer TAP and
Summer Stafford Loan.
2. Complete the 2008-2009 FAFSA
as soon as possible. The longer you delay completing the FAFSA, the longer the delay in processing your summer award.
3. To receive priority consideration, complete the Summer 2008 Financial Aid Application by May 15.
|
Step 2 of 5.
Consider This |
At UAlbany, the summer term starts the academic year.
Summer session students with Pell eligibility will receive Pell during the summer term.
Using aid in the summer may reduce your eligibility for aid in the fall and spring terms.
Examples:
Summer Stafford Loan
Summer Pell Grant
Summer TAP
Consider speaking to a representative in the
Student Services Center to discuss your Summer Aid questions.
|
Step 3 of 5.
Determine How Much Aid You Need
|
Complete the Summer Aid Cost Worksheet to determine how much money you need this summer.
Summer Aid Cost Worksheet
If you are only interested in an
Alternative Loan for the summer,
complete an alternative loan application with your specific lender, do not complete steps 4-5.

Step 4 of 5.
