Stacy Pettigrew, B.A. '97, has co-written a handy guide on how to go green when you live in the city. Toolbox for Sustainable City Living educates city dwellers on how to create locally based, ecologically sustainable communities. Included is information on worm composting, rainwater collection, and raising chickens.
Written for people with limited financial means, the book emphasizes building with cheap, salvaged and recycled materials. Since half the world's population lives in cities, Pettigrew has found a niche.
