Professional: Forty-year career
includes two decades of executive management and two decades as a
professor. Experiences gained as an
internal auditor, corporate controller, vice president of finance, and
president serve to enliven courses and set a framework for research and
writings activities.
Scholarly: Authored numerous articles for academic and professional
publications. Presented research to the Southern Management
Association, the Academy of Management, and the International Academy of
Business & Economics. Wrote seven books that focus
on management, strategy, and performance analysis. Current

Current Activities: Designing a program for on-site management training and
development. Current research involves
examining the influence of corporate boards of directors on firm financial
performance.
Education, Awards, Memberships: Ph.D. in Management and additional
degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, and Adult Education. Teaching awards and honors include Sustained
Excellence in Teaching Award from the State University of New York, Empire
State College and the Harold L. Cannon Outstanding Teaching award from the
University at Albany. Also listed in
several editions of Who’s Who Among America’s
Teachers. Member of the Academy of Management (AOM),
the International Academy of Business and Economics (IABE), the Southern Management
Association (SMA), the Eastern Academy of Management,
the International Academy of Business and Economics, the American Accounting
Association (AAA), Vice President of the Tech-Valley Chapter of the Institute
of Management Accountants (IMA), and the American Legion.
