Dr. Kyla Frohlich received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Warren Wilson College and doctoral degree in Basic Medical Sciences from the Microbiology and Immunology Department at the University of South Alabama, where she studied the biochemistry of Rickettsia prowazekii with Drs. Winkler and Audia. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center with Dr. Li Shen, continuing the study of obligate intracellular bacteria researching the molecular biology and biochemistry of Chlamydia spp. In 2013, Kyla joined the Agris lab as the Lab Manager and Research Associate. Currently, she is the lead on the “T-box Project”= Development of novel antibiotics targeting the T-box RNA regulatory element common to Gram positive bacteria.
