Kinetics and Rate Equations
Kinetics: the study of reaction rates.
Reaction rate: how fast the products appear and the reactants disappear. Determined by measuring the increase of concentration of products or disappearance of reactants with time.
Rate Equation (or Rate Law): relationship between concentration of reactants and the observed reaction rate. This is determined experimentally.
