Social, Political, and
Ethical Dimensions of BusinessPaul Miesing
Welcome to this MBA class on "The Social, Political, and Ethical Dimensions of Business" — whether you are an enrolled student or an online visitor. As we enter the new millennium, society will become increasingly concerned about business ethics and social responsibility. Managers are under increasing pressures of a non-market nature (such as ethics and moral standards) or that threaten to alter the traditional market approach (such as government influences and global competition). Equally important are considerations of what business ultimately means in terms of human fulfillment and moral merit, and if markets are the most efficient and equitable manner of meeting those ends. This page is my attempt to gather resources useful for students in this course as well as for students and practitioners elsewhere anywhere around the globe. Please make yourself at home, browse around as long as you like, and feel free to try anything you want to. I’m still developing this page and would certainly appreciate your feedback.
