Objective
This course will help you to develop an
understanding of fundamental concepts in cartographic theory and practice.
It will also introduce you to computer-assisted design (CAD) technologies.
Text
Slocum, et. al., Thematic Cartography and Geovisualization,
3rd ed. Prentice-Hall.
Note: The text will be available at Mary Jane Books in Albany.

2.0-compatible flash drive with at least 256 mBytes
of free memory.
Grading
Midterm exam 20%
Final exam 40%
Lab exercises 40%
All lab exercises must be completed independently.
No group projects will be assigned.
Lab assignments must be completed by the assigned deadline on the course
schedule web page.
