Allison is a Senior at the University at Albany, a State University of New York. She transferred in the Spring of 2001 from SUNY Morrisville- State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology, where she recieved an Associate of Art Degree in Liberal Arts/Humanities. Allison's major at the University at Albany is Information Science and her minor is English.

While at Suny Morrisville, Allison was an active member of the Lambda Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of Junior Colleges. Allison also recieved academic honors such as: Dean's List , President's List, the National Dean's List, and a profile in Who's Who Among American Junior Colleges.

Also, while attending SUNY Morrisville, Allison spent two semesters volunteering in the library at the Edward R.Andrews Elementary School located in Morrisville, NY. Allison was able to work with Librarian Jacqualine Groves in library duties such as assisting students and teachers with research projects and helping students find library materials. Allison also learned how to enter new inventory into the library database and the importance of organizing information in a library so that it is easy to access and use.

During the Spring 2000 semester, Allison was able to serve on the committee to plan the 2000 Writer's Jubilee, an event held annualy at the Edward R. Andrews Elementary School. The Writer's Jubilee is a day-long conference where the public is invited to attend workshops given by authors, illustrators, media personnel and local artisans. Some of the workshops held during the 2000 Writer's Jubilee were: "Writing for Television," "Cool Poetry," "Wildlife Art," and "Surf's Up-Internet Tour For Kids." The keynote speaker for the Writer's Jubilee 2000 was Tony Sansevero, who has illustrated books for the "Touched by an Angel" television series and Bruce Coville's "I was a Sixth-Grade Alien" series.

While at the University at Albany, Allison has continued her work in the Information Sciences program and become a member of Alpha Phi Omega's Alpha Delta Eta chapter here on campus. Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed community service organization. Some of the volunteer services Allison has participated in include baking cookies at the Albany Ronald McDonald House, the Adopt-A-Highway program, working on the Frost Valley YMCA farm, Don't Walk Alone and spending time with children at the Malerick Family H.E.L.P. Center.

Allison plans on graduating in December of 2002. Her future plans include paticipating for a year in the Americorps Vista program and Graduate School. Eventually, Allison plans to work toward her Master's Degree in Library Science.
