Team presentations:
Each team will make 2 presentations on topics assigned by the instructor. You should plan to spend about 15-20 minutes on the topic, demonstrating a certain skill within the appropriate application. In addition, you should hand out an instruction sheet and make these instructions available online. You should also come up with 2-3 mini projects utilizing your team's skill for the class to add to their homepage. Finally, you will assist the instructor in guiding the class that night as we all work on that skill. Teams will be formed the first night of class.
As a team, you will make a proposal to a potential client regarding their website. More detailed instructions will follow.
Throughout the semester, we will spend a significant portion of class time working on mini assignments and the tools and techniques used for developing a successful web site. You will need to link the files that you have been working on in class from a student homepage you create. Of course, the first step in this assignment is creating your student homepage. Detailed instructions will follow.
Please note that this is an opportunity to "show off" what you've learned in class and on your own.
You will do a presentation of 1 or 2 "neat" things you learned on the last night of class.
You will create the content, design, and graphics for a website on a topic of your choice. Please clear this concept with me ASAP, by October 2 at the latest.
We will discuss this more in class.
Team presentation = 20 points (10 points each)
Team client proposal = 25 points
Participation = 5 points
Student homepage and presentation = 25 points
Final project and presentation = 25 points
Points will be deducted for unexcused absences, lateness, and early departures.
If you come across additional useful websites, please email me the link and I will add to this list throughout the semester.
