Music Video Review: Pink's Stupid Girls
Corey McPartlon

Pink never stops short of having a hot new track. Her newest hit single about the superficial cult status of today's media icons has topped the charts. This new hit comes to us from Pink's fourth album, “I'm Not Dead.” The song hisses at and pokes fun at the western worlds love for celebrity culture and who we have to bow our heads at.

Pink uses the heiresses, pop princesses, and anyone else who is famous for being famous to push her to the top of the charts. The outgoing theme of this piece is the loss of ambition in today's youth. Pink is very blunt in getting this point across as she paints her body, acts ditzy, and strips to almost nothing to prove her point. Pink wants listeners to realize that this celebrity culture is out of hand and it is not a healthy goal for youths to look up to today. Celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson, and Paris Hilton are allegedly the victims in this video; Pink feels that this song should teach them a lesson about how they portray themselves to their fans. Being blonde does not mean you have to be stupid. This is the stereotype that many of the teen socialites have employed.
