Gracia Violeta Ross Quiroga is an HIV-positive woman living in Bolivia. She is a member of the Latin American Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (REDLA). With this organization, Violet fights for information, medication and the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Gracia Violeta emphasizes the impact that gender and gender-based violence has on HIV/AIDS. She is a representative of the International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW) for the Andean sub region. She has also worked with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to produce two public service announcements related to HIV/AIDS. These announcements feature Gracia Violeta calling for women and girls to have access to information and means of prevention.
In 2004, Gracia Violeta gave a speech during the closing ceremony of the International AIDS Conference in Bangkok, Thailand. Gracia Violeta won the Mi Heroe in 2005.
