Short Bio

Dr. Yuan Hong received his Ph.D. degree in Information Technology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in 2013. Prior to that, he received the M.Sc degree in Computer Science from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, and the B.Sc degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, respectively.

He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Security and Digital Forensics at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), and also an affiliated faculty in the Department of Computer Science (Courtesy), and the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (Courtesy).

His research interests include Privacy, Security, Digital Forensics, Optimization and Data Analytics. He has published in refereed journals and conferences proceedings, including IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Computer Security, Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Energy Research, Optimization Letters, CIKM, EDBT, ICDM, etc. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, SUNY Research Foundation, and UAlbany.

I will be joining the Department of Computer Science at Illinois Institute of Technology in August, 2017.
