It is exclusively designed for print and film scanning, digital video and audio capture, editing and output, DVD mastering, archival fine-art large-format print output, and web design. Write papers, surf the web, and check your e-mail at another campus facility or on your own computer. Use of this lab for external commercial projects is expressly prohibited and violators will have their lab privileges permanently revoked.
  • ONLY students who are currently registered in either a Fine Art, Music or Theater course may use these facilities and then only during a scheduled class. This lab is not available for use outside of class. Do not, under any circumstances, permit someone you do not know to have access to this lab.
Food or drink (or smoke--duh) are prohibited in the lab.
  • Do not touch the surface of the displays.
  • Do not install software on these machines. Violation of this one gets you booted from the lab for good. No exceptions.
  • Do not modify system settings (other than monitor calibration, which is to be encouraged).
  • Only USB or Firewire peripherals may be connected by students to these computers. Files must reside in folders. You may store locally on the drives, but you must make a folder with your name on it inside your class folder. Files found in the applications folder or left stray on the desktop will be routinely deleted. This includes files with clever names such as "Do Not Delete Me!" Folders in excess of 2 GB will routinely be deleted.
  • Please do not shut these computers down, but "log out" before you leave.
  • Have fun. Do brilliant work, but please be gentle with our machines.
