Lesley de Voil -------------- I was a talented student of piano as a youngster, unfortunately not talented enough to recognize the possibilities behind the very large and "woofy" pipe organ that was presented for my consideration at about age 16. After an excursion into marriage and motherhood and self-instruction on harpsichord, I eventually started out at age 35 to learn the pedals and obtain a bachelor of music with pipe organ as my principal study. I have been continuously employed as organist and choir director since then. With my family, I operated a commercial goat dairy for quite some years, before eventual relocation in 2005 back in my hometown of Brisbane, Queensland. As well as having an interest in community broadcasting, I have supported the Royal School of Church Music as tutor, committee member, and newsletter editor for many years. I am also employed by the local firm of organ builders, being engaged in most facets of the trade from pipe cleaning to website maintenance!
