It is a great pleasure to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of PIPORG-L. From its inception, inquiring minds have probed the heights and depths of the organ world to all of our benefit.
Through all this time I have read much that has questioned what has been taught as the gospel truth. This has helped to substantiate my opinion that the organ world is large and diverse enough to have many approaches to the same goal: the survival of the king of instruments as a musical medium.
At times, there have been heated debates over organic issues. Even with our disagreements and falling outs, PIPORG-L has survived. We can learn to get along with our diversity, while learning from each other.
Because of PIPORG-L, I have met organ fans from around the world, traded music and recordings, and learned much concerning the organ and its music that I would not have otherwise. I have also been able to share my own insights and interests.
Thanks to Dave Schutt, Ben Chi, and David Kelzenberg for being willing to lead this list for its first decade. May PIPORG-L continue to inspire, question, debate, discuss, and promote ideas for decades to come!
