If you need extra help in a course and prefer one-on-one tutoring, our office provides students and the community with an updated listing of academically successful tutors who are available to provide tutoring for students. These independent tutors have taken the course in which they tutor, achieved at least a B+ or better in the course, and possess a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.0. Students interested in seeking an independent tutor are responsible for providing the tutor with remuneration. The hourly fee is negotiated between the student and the tutor, but the recommend fee is $8-12.

Independent Tutors
The OASS is looking for qualified people who are interested in tutoring students. There is a wide range of courses available for tutoring and schedules are flexible. The pay is negotiated between the tutors and the students, but the recommended fee is from $8-12 per hour. To be qualified to be a tutor, you must have the following qualifications:
-A 3.0 cumulative GPA
-A B+ or better in the course you would like to tutor
-A Personal or Professional Letter of Reference
