Journalism Home
The Journalism Program offers practical
training in the context of a liberal arts and
humanities education. Students have the option of completing a BA in Journalism, or a Journalism minor.
The Journalism Program introduces students to the
rapidly changing world of innovative media
technology, such as computer assisted reporting,
use of the Internet, and online journalism. In
addition, the Program, through coursework and
internships, prepares students to consider
careers in the mass media beyond newspapers and
broadcast news media -- cybermedia, magazines,
governmental public information, public
relations, freelance writing, and book
publishing, to name just a few.
The Program's Website (presently undergoing renovation) regularly publishes
outstanding student work produced in the
Journalism classes. Though not officially
associated with UAlbany student media, the
Program encourages students to participate on
the ASP newspaper , WCDB Radio , and the Student
Voice magazine, as well as in the Student
Association for Communication.
Visit the Journalism
web
site to learn more about the exciting
activities that the Journalism program has to
offer.
