Sylvia is currently researching on the cult of the Dioscuri. She was awarded a Fullbright fellowship to Cyprus in 2003 for her work on the Dioscuri. She is interested in and teaches classes on women in antiquity, Latin and Greek literature, Greek and Roman history, and ancient law. She regularly teaches Latin and Greek texts, both in translation and in their original language.
