Spring 2013 Recognition Events
Recognition Ceremony for English and Journalism Majors
Date: Saturday, May 18
Time: 8:00 p.m. (ceremony lasts approximately 90 minutes)
(participants need to be there by 7:30 to begin lining up)
Location: SEFCU Arena, UAlbany Campus
Attire: Students may opt to wear cap and gown or business attire.
Seating: Tickets are not needed for the department's Recognition Ceremony. There is ample seating in the SEFCU Arena for all friends and family.
Invitations: Once you have been approved for graduation by the Registrar's office you are automatically added to the department’s invitation list for the Recognition Ceremony. Formal letters of invitation will be mailed to both students and family shortly. In the meantime, click here for the answers to some FAQs.
Students who completed their degree requirements in December 2012 or will do so during the summer of 2013 must complete this FORM and return it to the English Advisement Office in HU381 by Wednesday, March 27 if they wish to participate in the English Department Recognition Ceremony and have their names included in the program.
English Honors Colloquium
Date: Satuday, May 18
Time: 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Location: HU354 (third floor of the Humanities building)
Invitations: Colloquium is for Honors students, their mentors, and families. Please see the honors director, Professor Ineke Murakami, for invitation information.
Honors students will present their work at the colloquium, and a tea will follow.
