Gender Theory and Modernist Literature. One of my specific interests is the foundation of hierarchies and the enactments of identities upon which those hierarchies are founded within the works of a range of 19th- and 20th-century authors that include Henry James, Theodore Drieser, and Willa Cather, but especially, William Faulkner.
