The University at Albany Office of Environmental Health and Safety is a service organization dedicated to providing the expertise, advice, guidelines and current standards of professional practice, to ensure the safety and well being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Our goal is to prevent injury, illness, and environmental damage through the recognition, evaluation, and control of potential hazards arising from University activities, and to comply with federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations.

The Office of Environmental Health & Safety is accepting inventories of hazardous chemicals from laboratories that are no longer needed and may be disposed of. Inventory forms can be found here. Please contact EH&S at 442-3495 for more information.
Effective July12, 2013, UAlbany EH&S will no longer issue permits for firework displays. Recent changes to NYS law empower the Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) to issue permits and enforce provisions of the Penal Law related to fireworks on state property. Anyone with questions or those in need of a permit is directed to contact OFPC at (518)474-6746 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
